Flexible working

I’m all for Girl Bosses!

Following on from my New Year New Goals post on how I wish to develop this year. I’m happy to say that I have taken baby steps into organising my life and making the most of my flexible working situation. So now I wish to share with you the tips that have worked well for me. Keep reading to find out more.

When it came to choosing to becoming a freelance Marketer it was no easy choice as people may think it is. For me what made that choice easier to make, was having the freedom to create a life I loved. It has been a long journey for me to get to the point I am now and I hope to share my experiences in more future posts. I have teamed up with Powwownow.co.uk to help with their Ultimate Flexible Working guide which I will link once it’s available and to share my tips & ticks that have helped me along the way.

So when you get that freedom believe me it also comes with challenges, it’s so easy to get side tracked with managing your time. I’m definitely guilty of binge watching Netflix and spending more time in Starbucks then I should. Over years I have developed my own tips & tricks on how to mange my flexible working schedule to get the most out of it.

Flexible working in my home office means I can create a life I love and enjoy spending more time with people that matter most like my family and my dog. Because let’s face it in an office environment we spend more time with work colleagues then we do with family and friends.

Personalised Work Space

For months I was working off my laptop in bed or on the sofa. While we have the freedom to work like that, it’s better to create your own little work space at home. The great part is you can make it as creative and unique as you like. Put your own stamp on it and it will become a place you can sit down and get sh*t down.

Planning

Having a plan of action for each day, week & month is incredible important for me. I need structure to be able to be as proactive as possible with each task.

Embrace Technology

Technology makes my life a whole lot easier. Smart phones & watches have made daily activities more manageable with push notifications and alerts for everything. Making sure I don’t miss a thing and keeping me connected with the rest of the world.

I work from home as well and I think that the best thing is waking up in the morning and working throughout the day. It keeps me in a routine and makes me feel much more productive.

Also, planning and getting organised are very important! Creating to-do lists helps!
