I’m guilty of being a girl who loves LOVE…
As a February child born on the 13th, I have become victim of Valentines Day, as February worldwide has been celebrated as the month of Romance. So instead of blogging on my gift ideas to purchase, I have chosen to express my feelings on what Valentines should be about.
Many people view Valentines Day as having to plan extravagant dinners and buy expensive gifts. There is no reason to get your heart racing asking yourself questions like: Is she going to like this? Did he remember? Or maybe he’ll surprise me this year? By getting yourself stressed over so much, we forget to enjoy the value of the day and the simplicity of love. It’s the small and thoughtful acts that have the greatest and longest lasting impact.—- Have a look at my simple Dark chocolate tart recipe to bake for your loved one.
Love is universal and if you do not have a special someone in your life. Take the time to appreciate your family and friends, extend your love to them. Make your family dinner or turn off your phone and hang out with your friends. Finding out how the people closest to you are feeling and cheer them up. Sometimes it takes a specific day to push you to make that effort.
And if all else fails…I recommend the gift of flowers. I love flowers, it reminds me that all things are temporary. Whether you’re going through a tough time in your life, flowers remind you it wont last. And when times are going wonderful remember to seize that moment, live each day like your last.
“If my love were an ocean,
there would be no more land.
If my love were a desert,
you would see only sand.
If my love were a star-
late at night, only light.
And if my love could grow wings,
I’d be soaring in flight.”
