Urban Decay 2016 Summer Collection

UD 1As a blogger what I love most are when brands release seasonal products especially Summer collections! Urban Decay’s 2016 Summer collection captures the essences of sun-kissed skin or a golden goddess complexion as if arriving back from the islands of Fuji. Keep reading to find out more.

Every Summer make-up brands all release products that want to capture the essence of a sun-kissed bronze look. Urban Decay have achieved just that with their latest 2016 Summer Collection, which includes three AfterGlow Highlighters, two Urban Decay Beached Bronzers, two eye pencils and the One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector.

The Urban Decay Beached Bronzers (RRP £20) are beautifully packaged in a tropically palm tree print design. The silky matte bronzers give my complexion a healthy bronze glow without shimmer. It’s perfect for contouring the face or just for adding warmth to your complexion. The bronze powder is finely milled, creamy, and easy to blend so you are able to create a natural bronzed look for every day or build it up for a bronze Goddess look for the night.

Naked Skin One & Done hybrid skin perfector (RRP £25) is a new tinted moisturiser that launched this year. The oil-free formula provides a medium weight coverage, moisturises, and includes a SPF 20 protection. This really is a new evolution from the traditional BB & CC creams as this also acts against the signs of ageing. One & Done combines a sheer foundation with a skin treatment together and the results I’ve received are a natural flawless and smooth appearance. Giving me the confidence to go virtually make-up free.

The formula contains peptides, vitamins, and a range of moisturising ingredients as well as SPF 20. The plant-derived ingredients promises to improve the tone and texture of the skin. Recently I have been opting for a no make-up look and wearing this product on my face for most days. I have noticed my skin looks more radiant and plump, as if my skin has had a good drink of water or a good night’s rest. Urban Decay also promises that One & Done will reduce the appearance of pores over time, which I have not yet noticed but I’ll let the product slowly work it’s magic. I’ll share an update on my Instagram if I notice smaller looking pores.

Naked Skin One & Done is available in six shades but I’m currently using both light and medium, the formula blends evenly and matches my skin tone.

AfterGlow 8 Hour Powder Highlighter (RRP £19) comes in three shades in this collection, Sin, Fireball and Aura but I’ll be reviewing the colour Fireball. I love the metallic packaging, with the fishnet cutout revealing the shade inside.

Fireball is a soft coral peach with slight pink undertones, It’s such a beautiful shade and perfect for Summer. Contrary to first initial thoughts, Fireball is very wearable and could be worn by someone with fair skin as a blush. On my skin tone it’s works lovely on top of an existing blusher to give a luminous and iridescent glow to my cheeks. Afterglow’s 8 Hour long lasting formula really does last all day with a setting spray on top.

Urban Decay is a brand I’ve always admired and have eagerly wanted to try. I’m so thankful to be given this opportunity to test some pieces from the Summer collection and share my thoughts with my readers.
