With less then 9 days to go till Christmas day we are all feeling a little overwhelmed (or is it just me?). Keep reading to find out why it’s important to treat yourself this season.
With schedules filled with festive commitments such as attending social events, making time for family and friends, then finally the pressure of gift-giving. I wanted to share why I think it’s important to treat yourself during the festive season. My guilty pleasure is a treating myself to a new scent and this year it’s Mon Guerlain.
With all the mayhem, taking time to treat yourself is so important and something we all are guilty of not doing. Being a little selfish is not always a bad thing and opting to treat yourself to a fragrance means no calorie counting and it will always fit. Fragrances are unique to each person as the ingredients react to each individuals PH levels therefore adapt from person to person. The sense of smell has a deeper meaning then what most people think, a particular scent can uplift your mood, trigger a memory and even help balance your mindfulness. Making it a great gift to you!
When choosing a fragrance, people always ask me to define my personal preference when it comes to characters of the scents and I admit I get a little stuck. I’m not exactly girly, not that sporty, and I wouldn’t exactly describe myself edgy either. I’m drawn to the Mon Guerlain as it’s classic, feminine and soft, it doesn’t overpower your senses which is key for me. The best way I can describe Mon Guerlain is a scent which is all about looking like the best version of yourself with a fresh complexion, a little contouring, long flirty lashes and soft waves. Nothing stiff or over-styled, simplicity is key.
No matter what I’m wearing, there’s one accessory I absolutely never skip— fragrance. I don’t feel quite together until I’ve applied just the right scent. Mon Guerlain combines some of my favourite scents into one soft, unique perfume, I love the light essence of Carla Lavender and Sambac Jasmine. Mon Guerlain also has notes of Album Sandalwood from Australia and Vanilla Tahitensis from Papua New Guinea. I’m not into heavy fragrances and this one is perfect for me. I apply a little bit on my wrists and neck as my final step in my beauty routine and the finishing touch to any party look. It’s a scent that I find develops over time and can be worn from day to night.
Debenhams on Oxford street have just opened a Spritz Bar on the ground floor, I highly recommend giving it a visit after you have done your Christmas shopping. You can sit back and enjoy a glass of prosecco then explore in finding your perfect scent to treat yourself.
Leave me a comment telling me what is your favourite scent and if you will be treating yourself this Christmas?
Thanks for reading!
